Na Onkološkem inštitutu v Ljubljani že od leta 2019 redno potekajo tečaji temeljnih in dopolnilnih postopkov oživljanja. Njihov glavni cilj je usposobiti zdravstveno osebje za hitro in pravilno ukrepanje v kritičnih situacijah, kjer je vsaka sekunda dragocena. Izkušnje so pokazale, da znanje in veščine, pridobljeni na teh tečajih, neposredno prispevajo k večji varnosti in kakovosti obravnave naših bolnikov. Da bi to znanje še dodatno podprli, smo pripravili učbenik z izbranimi poglavji, ki bo služil kot osnova za izobraževanje na omenjenih tečajih in kot dopolnilno gradivo za specializante različnih strok, ki se izobražujejo na Oddelku za anesteziologijo, intenzivno terapijo in terapijo bolečine. Vsebina temelji na aktualnih priporočilih Evropskega sveta za reanimacijo (ERC).
